Default Correct use of negative space in a logo

i'm designing a logo at the moment in Abobe Illustrator. My current design features 2 words both in the same font and at the same size. One of the words is in white placed on a black square and the other word is in black touching the far right of the black square. Due to the negative space the white word on the square appears to be slightly bigger and positioned lower than the black word.

I'm wondering what would be considered to be more correct? Should the words be kept at the same size (as it is technically correct) or should one of the words be amended in size and positioning so it looks more correct visually?
