Default Molly Ivins dies at 62

Molly Ivins was one of my favorite contemporary writers. She was happy to be a troublemaker, and knew how to skewer the powerful and pompous as no one else has. But most of all, she was a ferocious defender of the Bill of Rights throughout her life.

She died January 31, 2007 of what she referred to as a “scorching case of cancer,” first diagnosed in 1989.

John Nichols of The Nation magazine has posted this tribute to Molly Ivins. The New York Times obituary is here with a few of her columns linked to from that page. There is also a tribute to her at the Creators Syndicate web site.
