Terrie, IIRC the spray routine also used to be recommended because it gave the toner (as opposed to inkjet) a little extra "feel", similar to the way that thermography-vs-flat has a little extra feel.

And, not all toner fuses into all paper the same way. The cheaper the stock, the more tooth, the better the fusing.<G>
