Default Quark 6.5 - Linked EPS files

When I print to PDF or export to PDF, the EPS comes out full resolution. When I print on my local printer (Brother MFC-7420), only the previews are printing. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Ben

It is likely that your Brother printer is not a PostScript printer, and that is why you are getting the previews when you print.

If your EPS files contain only raster data, TIFF is a better format in which to save. If your EPS file contain vector data, you're kinda stuck.

If you want hires prints off a non-postscript printer, distill or export as pdf and print out of Acrobat. It's extra steps, but it guarantees that you'll have a more accurate proof and allows you to do a quality check for any issues.

Yeah my EPS files are all vector. I've actually always printed to PDF first and that's why I've never noticed this problem after 8 months. Thanks to you both!
