Default Switch Box

Are there some printers which should not be put on a switch box? I wanted to try putting a large laser printer on my everyday computer, but I needed a 14 foot cable and I only had a 10 foot. So I ran a cable to a switch box I had laying around. I checked the printer manual (what a job at like 300 pages) and it said nothing about switch boxes. I think any printer can be put on a switch box, but maybe, I should check to be certain.

I'm always changing this computer room around. It sure changes how I work. Just the smallest move in the position of something like a computer desk can make such a difference in how I approach my work. It reminds me of when I was younger, and I used to change my clothes in the middle of the day to make sure I would stay mentally fresh. Actually I still do that.
