Assuming that the full raw logs are available to you, I would suggest a look at Weblog Expert. I have used the Pro version for a number of years now and found it to be a very useful tool - and not too expensive for what it does. It is very useful for following marketing campaigns, which is a form of trend analysis.

Alternatively you could use Google analytics, which is free, but does require some JavaScript to be placed on each page of the site! It is based on Urchin which Google bought about a year ago.
