Yes, modifying CSS and the rest of the HTML with PERL or another search and replace utility is an option, though the results won't be quite satisfactory. One common problem for example is when an image won't fit horizontally, it's either cropped, or if the vertical dimensions exceed the remainder of the page, the latter is left blank.

As I have no previous experience with any desktop publishing software, I used MS Word with success, but I thought something specifically designed for optimal graphics and text orientation better than MS Office must exist.
