Default Ad tracking/trafficking & workflow managing

I have searched through the forums here and noticed that there was quite a robust discussion concerning creating an automated web based php / mysql application to track advertising from sales contract to press...

Last post (sept 2005) was hinting at DotProject and a module. Wondering if anything came from the idea? or if a module for Dot Project was created? or this is being worked on elsewhere?

I started working towards something like the "ultimate wish" using PHPBMS but quickly found AJAX overwhelming. I also found some holes in it that I could not overcome... mainly lack of support from the developers.

Does anyone know if anyone has created or is creating anything resembling the original idea of what amounts to an automated trafficker and workflow manager?

I think I saw DJB and KTinkell in the threads posting comments...

Thanks again

I don’t recall participating too much, but Dave Balderstone (DJB) would be interested or involved in this. I hope he sees your message.

We abandoned the project for a number of reasons. I have URLs for a number of commercial products if you're interested, but the cost wasn't worth it for us.

I am not great with the coding aspect but the newest flavor of DREAMWEAVER has really allowed me to step into most of these pretty handily... It loadsup the MySQL database (with a workaround) and with some tutorials I have been able to apply quite a bit towards creating something that is starting to take shape... That said it is still slow going.

Happy to share and colaborate if others have an interest and willing to take a stab in the dark at the coding and testing. Feel like I am sloshing around in a swamp. It would be nice to hear from others concerning best practices on workflows...

regards
JLM
