I don't know whether I had only heard accent aigu spoken or had just forgotten what I had read, but you are undoubtedly correct, and I'm grateful for the emendation. Even if the é had been correct, accent is masculine, so you could give me another black mark for bad agreement.

It's 59 years since I did French (years of it), and it shows.
