Anything within the boundaries of your A4 page should print (assuming it has not been set not to, either inadvertantly or delibrately).

And if you ask for bleeds or slug marks, those will be placed outside your page where they will print, along with crop marks or printers’ marks you may have specified. They will not appear on the A4 page but outside it, so they will be on the film (or whatever) for the printer to use.

They may not show up in the PDF unless you ask for crop marks (I do not remember where that is done).

But they should show on your monitor when you are working. Do they?
