Well, I still haven't seen Etta. However, today we went to see a donkey called Snowy.

Well, we're not sure quite where we're going to keep him but, you know what it's like ... these animals look at you with big, appealing eyes and before you know what's happened you've agreed the purchase.

So, we now own a donkey!

I did manage a few photos..

Awwww — he is cute.

How tall is he at the shoulder (in feet and inches, please!)?

He looks to be maybe 11-12hands--a hand is 4" so he's 44"-48"

Oh, adorable! Anyway, they're more intelligent than horses - so now what do you need a horse for?

Hey!!! The divine ms. z resents that...'-}}

Besides which...this cute little donkey is a bit too small for anyone other than a very young (as in small) child...'-}}

Now a large mule on the other hand is ridable by an adult and there are mules that compete in dressage and are also on the hunt field...

That's an amazingly good estimate. He is somewhere between 11 and 12 hands.

Thanks. And thanks also for saving me from having to remember (or look up) hands — I wasn’t sure whether it was 4 or 8 inches, so you see how confused I might have been! <g>
