Default Lightroom Beta for Windows

I just noticed that Adobe has added a Windows version to the public beta testing of Lightroom. From what I read, it only runs on Windows XP SP2. Putting this together with the fact that Photoshop Elements only runs on XP SP2, it is possible that Adobe has no plans to support Win2k. And now I wonder if this will also be true of the CS3 products.

I'd have bought Premiere Elements some time ago except it only ran under XP. I've a feeling, with your statement that Lightroom also insists on XP, you're probably right. We may not only not be supported, the installer won't even run. I did try Lightroom on the Mac early on and realised I didn't want to get confused between what software was managing my assets, so I didn't even check out the Windows beta.

It's a shame that W2K is becoming obsolete. To me, it's still a perfectly viable OS, but it probably doesn't provide all the hooks XP does.<sigh>
