Default AI file into Keynote?

With my MacBook Pro, I would like to import an old Illustrator (7) file into Keynote, since I don't have the program anymore. Is there an easy way around that? S i g v e

Is it in .ai format? Or .eps?

Do you have a recent version of Photoshop? If so, it will open an .ai or .eps file, rasterize it, and output a .tiff or .jpg file of a specified size. (I am not sure, but perhaps Elements will also do this.)

If not, it might be easiest to send/give the file to someone with Illustrator and ask them to make a copy in a format you can use. (Someone here will be glad to do it.)

It appears that Keynote accepts only .tiff, .jpeg, and perhaps .gif and .png (most easily from an iPhoto library; do not know how else to get an image into Keynote).

Sweet of you to help - this is my first time around in this forum. I'm not really sure if it's EPS or ai, and no, I don't have PS. And to be honest I am not really ready to pay for Apple´s Page/Keynote either. The result I've seen after printing the PDF is NOT professional. I'll let it hang in here a little more, this sprout folder of mine has already been hanging a year or so. S

No, don’t buy Pages/Keynote if you do not have a need.

I am disappointed in Pages, particularly (have no use for a Keynote sort of thing). As my grandmother-in-law might have said, Pages is “neither fish nor fowl nor good red herring”!

It purports to be a layout program, but has zero support for type controls. It doesn’t do much more than TextEdit, which is free for all.

However, if you want to send me your file, I will see what I can do with it.

My iMac expired recently, so I missed this thread.

Expression 3.3 (freeware from Microsoft) opens Illustrator 7 files and Exports Flash, PDF, EPS, TIFF and Illustrator (vector). It also saves as the bitmap formats; Photoshop, PNG and JPEG. Keynote should be able to handle most of these files. The OSX app Preview converts to and from most of the popular formats.

I have not received it. Did you get a notice that the file did not go through?

Kathleen, I didn't get a notice from Mail that it wasn't successful. Now, thanks to Ian Blair, I was able to open the Illutrator document with Expression 3.3.
Thanks to the both of you and thanks for this forum to the one who created it!
