You should be able to extract the text with Copy Flow, they even have a plugin for use with Asian versions of Quark. I have no experience with these programs, however.

As far as the font not working in InDesign, maybe someone else can offer some insight as far as font mapping. Another thing I wish I knew more about.

Further, here is a program that converts Quark into Indesign. I'm not sure if you need it since you are apparently opening them in InDesign. Maybe it retains more of the original formatting if you use this, I dunno.
