If you're using OSX you might be interested in checking out SpellCatcher -- the alternative system-wide spell checker, http://www.spellcatcher.com/. It does multi-lingual spell checking, will expand shortcuts (so 'mc' expands to my complete multi-line name and address) and it will capture all keypresses and store them in a file (useful when something crashes and you haven't saved for a while.
