Default Acknowledging bad design

As someone once interviewed Paul Renner.
"How do you differentiate between a good design(ers) and a bad one?"
He answered that good design is genuine and shocking when you see them and a bad design(er) is pretentious.

What would you do if you happen to meet someone like that? Always hiding in your corners stealing ideas from your work and meddling with bosses.
