Default Help! "speaker city" font??

Help!!!-Does anyone know the name of the font used for "speaker city" in the movie Old School. I would prefer a Mac match, but at this point i'm desperate & will take either the name in mac or pc.

I have no idea. Does it have anything to do with the fonts shown in this poster?

If you get a lead to this, do not worry about Mac vs PC versions of the font. Just get the proper name. Then perhaps we can help you.

That assumes, of course, that it is not lettering.

Get an image, and then we can try to figure it out.

It is URW Cooper Antique (D) Condensed and it is available in several formats from fonts.com.

To Bo Aakerstrom. Thank you. That was it. The serif on the p was different (angled) but that can be easily rendered. Thanks again

Aha! It is Cooper Black. In fact, I would bet that this is Bitstream’s Cooper Black Outline (but you could outline any of the many, many versions of Cooper Black and get a similar effect).

Every major (and some not-so-major) font company has Cooper Black, so you should have little trouble finding the font.

I suggested URW's version since that's what I had on my PC, I got a bucket load of their fonts with Canvas 7 even though that was a covermount.

Version 8 that currently is doing the rounds as a covermount comes without fonts (or help files for that matter) perhaps it would be worth while to track down an old copy of Canvas on Ebay for the fonts alone!

Indeed. Those were well-made fonts.

The Bitstream 500-font CD for Windows was also a great value and it includes all 11 of the Coopers, including the outline version.

In fact, now that he knows the name, I suspect Lion Design will have no problem finding the font he needs! It is almost as common as Times!
