Default Installing Dreamweaver 2004 Extras

I am having trouble installing the extras that come with Dreamweaver MX 2004, specifically Fireworks and Topflite. This may be because I am trying to install them on D:\Program Files rather than C:\Program Files, but I just reinstalled Dreamweaver itself to correct a configuration problem and it went there just fine.

Any advice?

David, do you mean the full install of FireFox? That is not an "extra" but a full program and will install where you tell it. I try each new version as it appears, and each can be installed in its own directory - but I have not bought it since the original MX version. ISTR that Topflite was a css editor that never took off.

If they are the demo versions that you have then they will be well expired - sure that isn't your problem?

I did not get any "extras" with DW MX2004 - but then it was just an upgrade I paid for via download.

I am trying to do the full Dreamweaver MX 2004 CD install. Homesite did install just fine, but Fireworks and Topflight are there to be installed, seem to install from the "Add/Remove Programs" feature of WindowsXP Pro, but I can't seem to find them afterwards. I am going to try it again a little later today. Perhaps you are right, they could be demos included with DW, but they don't say they are demos.

David, I have just remembered that there are limited Fireworks functions installed with MX2004 - these are accessible via the image properties inspector. Open a page in DW and select an image on that page. The image properties pane opensn and there you will see the word "Edit". There should be some little icons next to that for crop, brightness etc. These buttons use some Fireworks routines installed with DW. For me they seem to link to the previously installed Fireworks program.

I have not used these tools, as my images are pre-optimised in PSP.

I wonder if some Topflyte function is also installed for the CSS editing fuctions, which were much improved over MX - and are even better in DW8.
