Everything old is new again. OfficeXP is yet one more attempt to do everything in yet one new and improved standard markup language (remember SML?) or what we used to call tags. It uses XML and CSS and while "standard" sounds nice...that one is so big it fails to impress me, too many people have made it do too many things, so mere mortals can have a fine time trying to figure out just WTF it is doing in any given situation.

You will find that WordStar is still available, even the old OS versions pop up on eBay. Any of the old DOS programs work well under any of the new versions of Windows, the problem is that if you are self-publishing you'll find precious little support for modern FONTS.

Speaking of Chron's disease, had your heard that there is big news from an Australian doctor who claims to have proven it is caused, like stomach ulcers, by bacterial infection and that a triple-antibiotic treatment can cure perhaps 90% of Chron's sufferers? Not all IBS, but a major step toward one of the mysteries.
