Default Database or XML? Synchronisation with Quark

I have a client that sets a small newspaper in quark 6.5 on Macintosh. He wants me to develop a website that has the paper's current events log, classified, and other stuff from the paper in the website as well.

The question I have is is there some software that would synchronise (british spelling here) his quark file with a database on a web server?

The solution that I am looking for would allow the client to keep typesetting in quark as usual, and not have to do any database entry.
