Default Good CSS site

I streamlined — and screwed up — the CSS for the forum’s home page. Trying to understand why some links were jumping around in MSIE 6, Ian led me to the Position Is Everything web site.

There are many interesting links there, including one that explains why our hovered links are jumping around in MSIE 6. This includes an incredibly detailed article on this: “Quirky Percentages in IE6’s Visual Formatting Model” by Ingo Chao.

Because I work on a Mac, I live in a fool’s paradise. I know enough to avoid some of the common Explorer problems but only find out about the arcane ones when I get a Windows with IE6 to check my pages. Anyway, I now have found out about this one, and will attempt to fix it.

Meanwhile, the Position Is Everything site belongs on the list of excellent web resources for CSS.
