Default IE-specific? or my settings?

May I please have a few others of you compare a Web page display with IE and with another browser? I'd like more confidence that the differences I see are due to IE-specific code rather than some settings in my installation of Firefox 1.0.6. See

I can't see a lot of the header in Firefox. In addition, when I float my mouse cursor over the horizontal nav bar "About WYSU ... Programs ... Support WYSU ... Public Affairs ... Links" in IE, I see dropdowns, but I see no dropdowns in Firefox. Do others see it differently? I'd like to be able to advise the site's Webmaster if he says he can't see a problem.

Just for you I took a look in IE (I *loathe* IE...'-}}) and it does show the dropdowns. They don't show in Netscape 7.2 or Firefox0.9.2--I'm pc based.

I think I am seeing the entire header — it looks complete, anyway.

Hovering over the nav items I also do not see dropdown menus. This is Firefox 1.0.6 on a Mac. Same result with Mozilla 7.8

Looking again in Safari 1.0.3, Opera 7.5, I do see dropdowns.

The complete header as seen in IE (on Windows XP) contains a semi-oval-shaped white area in the upper left corner with text reading "WYSU-FM Classical 88.5". The incomplete header that I see in Firefox 1.0.6 (on Windows XP) begins lower down, with the text "Classical, News, Weekend Fun!" at the upper left.

Your view suggests to me that it may just be the Mozilla-based browsers that do not show the dropdowns.

Did you know that Firefox is up to 1.0.6 now? The updates fix quite a few security problems.

I just had a look in Opera 8.02 in Windows 2000, and the dropdowns work. The header looks complete, also.

You might try this IBM DeveloperWorks page to see what you might need to do to fix the browser incompatibilites.

I apologize for any misunderstanding. As I wrote in the initial message, it is not my site. I have been corresponding with its Webmaster.

Thanks to everyone who reported on what he or she saw. Now that the weekend is over, I'll be back in touch with the Web master of that site and will try to help him along.
