Default CorelDraw 9 does not load

Well, I have been doing a lot of desktop customization lately. Well, I changed the theme of my computer and sincde I did the change, Coreldraw 9 has not been able to load. It starts and the quits.

And I really don't want to disable the new theme.

Are you a Win XP user?? I ask because I had CD9 on Win Xp for a while. It worked well too. Until it decided to crash every time I carried out a particular action, can't remember what it was. I had no probs with Win 98 SE at all. I think CD9 does not like Win XP very well. Maybe time to justify an upgrade to version 12? Or wait for CD13.

I use win XP but I have two profiles ... the administrator (which has a customized theme) and the guest ... which is the basic win XP interface and theme. So it works on the profile perfectly well and even works on the work shared between the profiles. But it just refuses to completely load in the administrator profile that has a changed theme.

How weird...and there's no error message when you try and open it when logged on as admin?

Have you tried doing an overlay install when logged on as admin? Maybe it can't "see" it because of the theme change?

I have a lot of crashes from CorelDraw 9 on Windows XP, too. I can't pinpoint a specific action that causes it. I would upgrade it except that I work mostly in Linux now and I'm not buying more Windows software. So I just have to live with the crashes when I do use CD 9. At least the rest of the system stays up.

Sorry that reinstalling didn't help...I'm at a loss at this point, particularly as I don't have 9 and I'm running W2K...
