Yeah...my current system had Fast Boot (guessing it's the same as Fast Startup) set to on and it drove me nuts that not all of my USB ports were initialized on boot--default was set to "partial initialization" which only inits USB ports with keyboard and mouse and I use a ps/2 keyboard (setting for that was "auto" but there was a lag with that setting so I changed it to "full initialization".

With Fast Boot set to "disabled", USB set to full init and ps/2 set to full init it takes maybe 3 seconds longer to boot which I can live with...'-}}
