Here's one reply from one of my contacts at CIS. Longtime sysop there and on the Norton team when they ran a Forum on CIS in the good old days. But he did not like the way they treated the CIS volunteers when the left to set up on their own and does not do Norton now although he still does A/V support on CIS

I have ordered both batteries and AC Chargers from BattDepot.com and have yet to be disappointed.

But note from this that there are a number of sub-variants in the batteries and the laptops they are for so double check that your laptop does not have that modifier.

I don't know if I could get an actual Sony battery. But one thing I do know is I'm willing to spend more to get more.

I doubt that Sony ever made batteries and not even in the laptop computer for home use business any more.

and

Pay extra for the 2 year warranty version on the site recommended and reckon that is pretty good for a rechargeable LiIon battery -- they only have a shelf life of about a year ISTR?

I didn't realize Sony was still making computers. But, it looks like they have a couple.
