Default Drones NE1?

I don't know. As someone who is shut in all the time, might be nice to take flight around the neighborhood. As long as I can get it home.

How about :

http://travelbydrone.com/ [Slow to come up]

There's some really fascinating stuff there (as well as some that is really advertising for something on the ground).

You can treat the map in the usual Google way and move to where you are interested then use the red flags to watch whatever interest you.

In the UK London has some fascinating ones especially one around the Big Ben that may no longer be there and of the London Eye that is since my time! I found one in Snowdonia of a part well known of me and where I still have a cousin living.

PS Some areas have pretty strict Privacy regulations in or coming in for flying drones over other people's property .... but how do you catch the drone?

My brother in law does quite a bit of messing around with drones. Some of them, it seems, have the smarts to remember where they came from and to self-navigate back to the starting point when the user presses the right button. Or when they start to run low on power. Nice touch.

What I would need is one that can auto-hover, fly indoors and out, stabilize the image (and/or the flight), and is easy to control. Also, knows to return home if the signal is lost, it's low on energy, or it gets a command to do this. Also, not so big it's hard to store.

Those features are common once you get above the low end. Maybe the best beginner drone I could get is the Phantom 3 Standard.

I know my bro-in-law has spent quite a bit on drones that meet at least some of these criteria. I also know that he's taken over vast areas of his garage and dining room for his ongoing drone repair activities. Meeting all of your criteria may be tricky. ;-)
