Default WordPerfect features

Well, since I went to the trouble to find this, I might as well post it.

Thanks for those links...I have WP12 and have installed it on at least one system for reason I can no longer remember but never really used it and have continued to install and use WP8. I probably should take at least a quick look at X8 just to confirm that WP8 is still good enough for me...'-}}

What's wrong with using MS word? Isn't Word more popular than WP now days compared to pre office where WP was probably popular in its hay day?

Nothing that I know of. I just didn't have any links to post.

Nothing but...I will never, ever, ever use it. I loathe Office/Word and use WordPerfect exclusively--an old version (8) at that because later WordPerfect versions look, work and act too much like Word.

If I can ask what do you dislike office? ( just curious) .... The only thing I don't like about office is the ribbons... I liked 2003-2007's look. ( pre ribbons)

2007 was post-ribbon and pre-Microsoft realizing what a singularly BAD idea it was not to allow ribbon customization. 2010 sorted things out.

Word vs Word Perfect? Horses for courses, I guess. Back in the day, every time I had to install WordPerfectAnything to work with client files, the installers made horrible messes and were written by imbeciles (e.g. the installer would give you all sorts of options about whether you wanted to install certain features or not, you'd eliminate the stuff you didn't need, and then the installer would crap out nearly at the end and complain about stuff being missing. The stuff it'd given you the option of not installing.)

It's Microsoft--I don't use anything of Microsoft's other than their O/S--and there is no Reveal Codes option and just overall, I find that it sucks...'-}}

I will agree with Steve that the WordPerfect installers are not well written but I'm used to WordPerfect 8's installer since I've used it so many times as I've moved from system to system that I don't give a second thought.

Fair enough. Once you know where the landmines are buried, it's safe to walk through the woods.

I just googled Word Perfect X8 and to me it looks like LibreOffice. Kinda sorta.

I attached an image of WP x8 and a screenshot of LibreOffice I have installed on my computer to convert some files over from .odt to .docx ( Word format)
