andrew: and had good luck with all of them.
That was also my experience with HP printers until the fiasco with the drivers and my sister's good experience with the little Brother AIO we bought thinking it would be a throwaway and it's still going strong 3 years later--all for the lowly initial price of $60...'-}}

I hemmed and hawed at abandoning HP for Brother and in the end decided to try the Brother laser. I don't print anywhere near what I used to so the Brother will do for now.

Just took another quick look at HP and found the HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer which has fairly comparable specs--you can do a side-by-side comparison via the main HP AIO page choosing: "inkjet", "multifunction", "color", "officejet", "automatic" (others left at default) from the selection criteria, then click on "Filter" and once the page redisplays with the list of printers, click on "compare" for the 4650 and the 6830.

The 4650 appears to be rated a bit better at amazon with 59% rating it 5-star.
