Given that I can't print on user-defined paper sizes with my HP, I print less on it than I used to on my XP system but even then, my toner carts lasted me quite a while. The Brother toner is less pricey than the HP toner and I've always bought OEM toner carts although maybe if I went through it more quickly, I'd buy 3rd party.

As I noted in my reply to Steve, my local Office Depot has both printers in stock and so I may pop over there tomorrow as it's closer than going to MicroCenter.
