Never heard of it until now, but it seems to have some good reviews under it's belt.
The free version is now called SoftMaker FreeOffice - there is a paid for version as well.

I use LibreOffice 5 and it is working very well and looks a bit slicker than it used to - it comes with a set of alternative icons for the interface if you don't like the look of the standard ones.

It might be more than you need but it is free some you don't pay extra for stuff you aren't going to use.

As for OpenOffice, I read somewhere about potential security issues stemming from a lack of development. Since the Apache Foundation have been the organisation behind Oo there haven't been much progress, so there might be some truth in that statement.
