LOL!! That's exactly how I feel about getting into the BIOS but, really, as long as you are careful, you should be ok. Get out your mobo documentation and you will find each of the BIOS settings discussed usually showing the list of options for each setting and also usually, it will somehow indicate what is the default setting for each option. I always have to go into the BIOS for each new system I get to turn off the @#$@!!!! numlock key...

You know...what might be easier to try first is to pull the new sound card and try the mobo based sound plugging your speakers into the "standard" sound jacks and see what it sounds like?
