Default vBulletin 5

There was a tremendous backlash against Internet Brands when they released vBulletin 5, and I saw one disaster after another when people tried to use it. This was some time ago, and so today I was trying to get a sense based on facts (not backlash) about where it stands now. Here is a thread where they are trying to sort out how it's doing now.

Thanks for posting the link as it was an interesting read...

I'm essentially clueless when it comes to forum software so quite a bit of that discussion is over my head except for the fact that vB5 software pretty much sucks...'-}}

What stood out for me was:

IBs speed in fixing bugs ranges from slow to not at all

Has a bad track record for being able to handle large high-traffic boards, but it seems to be improving

Lack of third-party addons and limited access to templates (CSS Only)

But there are people who are happy using it (along with those who are not)

Any idea why my posts are being moderated when I'm logged in and recognized as such? Have I been a nortyboy?

That's odd this came up immediately but one I posted as a reply to Andrew about v5 is not up and was flagged to me as waiting moderation!

LOL!!! No...not at all...'-}}

For some reason, Sky's initial post was flagged for moderation--your basic random glitch--and while I approved his post, it appears that initial moderation tag on the thread has lingered.

I missed your last post in the thread yesterday but have just approved it. I'll keep a closer eye on it...sorry about that...

No problem ....

We are all busy finding a lot of useful stuff in Forumania once it's pointed out by the staff.

I noticed the delay but I had already read it so it didn't matter!
