Default InDesign: Paste In (jolly useful)

You know how it is: you're bashing away for a couple of hours trying to fix some artwork that's arrived, you spend most of the time swearing about the designer's rotten method and how you wouldn't have done it like that at all. Then you realize that, although it should be possible to do the layout better and simpler, you don't know how to line up one object perfectly with another because of the silly masking that she's used, and and it's driving you round the flipping bend!

Then you find you can group the photo and the coloured box together, cut, delete the complicated masking arrangement that's off-centre anyway, draw a new frame exactly where you want, keep it selected and just paste into it (oh, it's so easy when you know!)

I can finally go to bed. Night night

I agree 100%. Especially with image/vector programs, if you don't know the tools and don't have a clue about the methods, you could spend hours getting nowhere.
It is all easy if you know the correct method for getting things down with the software.
