Default Flash drives in Pantone colors

This is perhaps the most charming (and close to the silliest) product collection I have been offered this year: Pantone is selling flash drives in the color of your choice with two free lines of laser engraving. (If you buy at least 10 of them, you can have your logo engraved for free as well.) They are available in capacities from 512MB ($10) through 32GB ($150), at prices that range with the sizes.

I guess it might be a good promo item if your business is flush.

They also have a web page from which you can acquire wire-bound notebooks in Pantone shades (packages of 5 at prices ranging from $13.75 through $30, depending on size). Or buy a set of Colorstrology cards customized to your birth month.

They also have a slow-loading ad for eyeglass frames with changeable temples in — you got it, I am sure — your chosen Pantone shades.

All this because I was curious about their color-matching tools (Color Munki and others). They do have a bunch of new color books, and collections that include all their series. But what’s with all the tsatskes?

Gee, maybe we should buy a bunch and sell them to members, thus circumventing geographical constraints (or so I imagine).

Had no idea anyone would want one! <g>

Perhaps a visit to Japan's in order. We were there recently and saw a whole display of Pantone-colored Various'N'Sundry at a popular department store.

Pantone is an international country — you can probably find these in lots of places. You just can’t buy from the U.S. store.

Thank you so much for posting this!!! I've just ordered a 1gb drive for my sister in hot pink (232C) with her name and her email addy...I think it's really clever and the total price of ~14 (no logo, with shipping) is quite reasonable for a bday pressie...'-}}

I'm also going to order at least 1 (possibly 2 or 3) for friends for Christmas...

Even *I* went and looked at the site. I may get a few myself!

I had bought a tiny new flash drive a couple of years ago. I had it on my desk, ready to fire up when the yellow lab puppy swallowed it!

She was fine; I assume it "all came out in the end"... but I, in no way, wanted THAT drive back! Ewwww

I just bought another one last week, but it's in a case in my briefcase!
