Default Shelley Wynn - Up and Running!

I want to thank everyone for the great advice and encouragement. I've spent the last few weeks learning Adobe CS2 online at lynda.com. I highly recommend lynda.com and I know I wouldn't have learned nearly as much from a book. I bought a lightly used Epson Stylus 2200 on Ebay and just love it! I just printed my portfolio (designed with InDesign) and I'm amazed at the quality. I have a long way to go, but I'm really motivated. Thanks again!

Oh YAY!!! I'm so glad to hear that things are going well and that the 2200 turned out to be a good printer for you...

If you begin to look at 3rd party papers (vs. Epson papers), take a look at Hawk Mountain Art Papers paper as they make really lovely paper at decent prices and they are a very nice company to work with.

While they have free paper profiles for practically all their papers, I can also recommend Cathy's Profiles for custom paper profiles--the profile she did for me for Hawk Mountain Osprey Textured paper works on all of the Hawk Mountain paper I use (makes sense if you think about it as the inkjet coating is probably the same (or similar) on all their papers) and at $35/profile, it's not too pricey.

Do keep us posted on what sorts of projects you are working on...
