I don't really know that much about Photoshop, so anybody know why I can't always save a PSD files as an EPS and retain vector data? The vector option is sometimes greyed out: it varies from file to file. I'm using CS2 Mac, and I always update text layers when the program warns me.

Hello Terrie, all the other Photoshop files in this group will happily save as EPS with vector data. I just can't see what's wrong with this one.

Hm, just experimented with it for a sec and noticed that if the Mode is "Indexed color" layers get flattened and vector objects get rasterized. |

Sweetheart, even my clients don't submit in Index
![]() I haven't time to fully investigate this file (beer and barbecue, and I'm late already), but I've have a good look at it and really can't see anything that's obviously wrong. |

What's different about the won't save file compared to the ones that do save??? If the mode isn't different, is the size significantly different or really stretching here...what tool do you have set--I noticed once that if I have the Type tool selected that a number of options on the menus are greyed out... I really don't know what it is, but I occasionally get a PSD file that just won't behave properly. Somebody else has dumped a Photoshop job on us this afternoon, so I'll have another bash at the problem on Monday.

Just curious, what kind of vector data are we talking about? Text? I wonder why they would use Photoshop instead of Illustrator. The only thing I could think of would be a photo with a clipping path saved into it.
