Ad tracking/DAM software?

Is anyone using ad tracking or Digital Asset Mgmt software in their publishing operation? We're a newspaper/Magazine publisher and it's time for us to look at this type of system.

We currently have Portfolio/server and are using it to catalog photos and ad elements such as logos, etc, but I want more of a tracking/status reporting system for our ROP and CD ads.

To give you an idea, Managing Editor's "Roundhouse" system looks attractive to me. <http://www.maned.com/products/roundhouse/>

What are others using? I have till September to get a budget and operational plan together.

It's a history/archiving project, eventually to be made available to researchers via museum or library.

I'm trying to get from what's there about it whether one must have client software to search and view the database or if a browser do the trick. I suspect that client software would be fine (if freely distributable like Acrobat Reader) to start out, but eventually it would have to be accessible to anyone with a modern browser. Since the company is so close by, I'll probably just show up on their doorstep one of these days and ask questions in person.
