I've been noticing web hosts changing from Apache to LiteSpeed (http://www.litespeedtech.com/). Interesting because LiteSpeed is not free. But from what I've read, it is so efficient that hosts can offer more domains per server (or something like that).

But from what I've read, it is so efficient that hosts can offer more domains per server (or something like that).Haven’t noticed that change myself, but can say that it is rarely in the site manager’s best interest to be on a more crowded server! More clients would make it more likely to run into server overruns. Unless, of course, the host has a strict policy of never overselling and never allowing clients to oversell, which is unusual.

I think the idea is that it would raise the overselling threshold. IOW, you can handle more activity without crossing over into overloading.
