- makes a change from the usual boring explanations, I suppose!

Note: this page contains mild comic violence and solicitation of slightly unethical behaviour.

Them programmers are toast, as I was not the first to make that selection they probably were already.

Perhaps that says something about human nature.:)

Another funny 404 I just ran across:

More of an accidental "site content not found" than a 404? A real 404 is the standard IIS one.

That or, even more likely, a page that never got finished but included HAL's voice to apologize. But I like the idea of HAL as a custom 404. Probably not legal though. Sigh.

Ah - I missed HAL, Dave.
Not got the right media player I guess.

And you were probably wondering what I'd been smoking. Other than HAL, the page was quite unremarkable.

Turn your sound up. HAL talks to you.
Well ... to Dave.

Oh. Well, not to me hit doesn't - I never allow a web page to automatically play any sound and mess up whatever music I'm listening to! So since there's no (obvious) control on that page either I really have no idea!

Here's where the sound comes from. It's that famous "Sorry, Dave. I can't do that" clip from 2001.

Yep, I thought bgsound was something of a MSIE-ism, but Opera plays the sound as well. Go figure ...
