My company is giving away some free Expo hall passes to Create Chaos in Orlando. I thought that you guys might find this an interesting event. I'll be speaking on font management as well as demonstrating the new version of Suitcase Fusion.

Go here to get one of the free passes: http://blog.extensis.com/?p=1956

If anyone is interested, the Create Chaos 2008 (http://www.createchaos.com/08/) conference and exposition will be held in Orlando October 14–16, 2008 (expo; 13—17 conferences). It is sponsored by vendors of equipment, services, software, and materials for graphic design, web, and multimedia design — including Dynamic Graphics Magazine, Blick Art Materials, Hoefler & Frere-Jones type designers, Animation Magazine, local vendors of papers, equipment, etc., and more.

In addition to Jim’s talk about Suitcase Fusion, there will be workshops and presentations about business practices, software (mostly from Adobe, it appears from a quick scan of the schedule), marketing, and some other topics I can only guess at from the one-line description. (You can view the schedule at the site.)

Of 54 speakers so far confirmed, only 5 are women, but these include Sandee Cohen (Illustrator and Photoshop expert) and Molly Holzschlag (web standards advocate). There are well-known men as well, including David Blatner (XPress and InDesign expert), Joe Duffy (specialist on corporate identity and branding), and Tim Cole (InDesign evangelist).

Molly has great books, and would be well worth going to hear. Florida is not convenient for me, but we must have some Florida forum members who might be able to go.
