There has been a big stink about this on the Adobe Forums. All links to the announcement were pulled, and continue to be yanked as soon as posted. Apparently the announcement is not supposed to happen until April 5, and some one screwed up at Adobe.

This article hasn't/shouldn't be pulled, and covers the highlights of the next version, including a "sometime in May" ship date.

Overall, sounds like Adobe is continuing it's gradual pace to merge Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign into some unified, Franken-layout-editor.

I eventually decided to accept Adobe’s intention to give its apps a common interface (even though it weakened each of them in some way), but more is less, if you ask me.

I think the biggest change may be what's NOT mentioned in the articles I've read so far... NO mention of Adobe ImageReady CS. There was a quick note that Photoshop cna handle animation, so does this mean we can finally get rid of ImageReady?

Saw something that indicated they're on a track to pull the ImageReady functions into Photoshop ... eventually.

There's also been only limited discussion of activation. Last time out it was only Photoshop and only Windows. Apparently this time it's for all apps and also on Mac.
