>>Cropping/fitting is usually much better done on the page, where you can see things in relation to the rest of the page.<<
I've been helping a friend of mine with some ad layouts most of which contain photos. I did the initial tweaking of the photos in Photoshop--greyscaling them (b/w ads), cleaning them up and sized them--and found that is it indeed much easier to fit them properly from within IDCS and it doesn't muck things up if you do.
I still prefer to do the initial cleanup and sizing in Photoshop but being able to adjust the sizing a bit from within IDCS is quite handy...
Fortunately Norman Hathway had asked about a keystroke for incremental sizing in IDCS ( http://www.desktoppublishingforum.com/bb/showthread.php?t=445 ) and Elyse pointed him to a site with ID tips and although the kestrokes specified there didn't quite work on the pc side, I was able to figure out that ctrl-alt-> and ctrl-alt-< do the trick on the pc side...
Anyway Shane...just wanted to let you know that you were right--not that I doubted you of course...'-}}
