Re: Inkjet Printers
Leaving price out of the equation, is there any real great advantage to using a multi-cartridge ink system over a two-cartridge system as far as print quality is concerned?
Thank!

Not if the inks are identical. But some of the multi-cart systems use more colors or inks designed for slightly different purposes.
The most obvious advantage to having separate cartridges for each color is to be able to replace only those colors that have run out instead of all of them. With some printers, possibly including a couple of those you mentioned, you can even buy an adapter and bulk ink containers and save money — and gain more time between refills.

Definitely you want to go with a mult-cart system because it will save you money in ink in the long run as you will just replace the cart that is empty...

I do still think that separate carts are better as multi-ink carts always have some slots with usable ink remaining and it's just a waste not to be able to use that ink...

There you go again, Terrie. Always thinking of the end user. Put yourself in HP's shoes for a change. Then the answer becomes obvious. ...combo cartridges are a really good thing. ;)

The funny thing is that I bought my Epson 4000 because of its 110ml carts...I really didn't care that it would print 17" wide...I just wanted those larger ink carts...'-}}

I think the guy who used to work for me was an HP secret agent or at least in their employ. He used to *love* magenta. *everything* was magenta. Great wide areas of it. Cartridge-loads of it.
I've never bought an all-in-one-cart printer since and never will.
