I discovered the DTP forum on CompuServe soon after it opened, but didn't join the staff until 1996.
As a librarian, I discovered type while studying for my qualifications, and bought my first Mac in 1986 after falling in love with screens that looked like type on paper instead of green or yellow typewriter output on black.
Since discovering the Mac, I've expanded my skills to graphic design, database design, web design and back to managing web-based integrated library management systems.
I'm currently employed as the systems librarian for my local shire library service in Queensland, Australia, and moonlight doing magazine work for a couple of clients, as well as the occasional web site design and maintenance.
