Hi, Can anyone tell me how to convert fonts with a VEF extension to TTF. Or where i can get "Squashed Metro" and "Euro BE" TTF fonts?I think .vef fonts are used in signmaking software, and neither Fontographer nor FontLab seems able to open these fonts, so it may be difficult to convert them into other formats. (Someone here may know of another program that could do the job, though.)
Euro BE and Squashed Metro do not turn up in any of the likely lists of fonts, but font names can be tricky. Can you attach a sample of these? Maybe we can identify them by their appearance.

Signlab 7 opens the VEF fonts but i need to use them in Flexisign but can't get Flexi to recognise the extension. Flexi can only use TT True Type, a Adobe 1, FF FS fonts, FF casfonts and URW fonts. I can only save the file as a.cdl and when i try to upload for you to see a sample i get a message to say the format isn't supported.

What I was suggesting is that you set some type on screen, if you can; then take a screen shot, save it as .gif, .png, or .jpg, and attach that.
It all sounds very annoying. I would have expected any font-using software at this point to use the widely available outline formats: TrueType, Adobe Type 1, or OpenType. Why mess with proprietary formats (except to try to tie up their customers, which would be naughty of them).

I hope this screen shot is of some help it was taken using Signlab.Okay — that looks like Eurostile. Look at this example (http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/eurostile/) at MyFonts.com.
You can also find it from other vendors.
