I have just downloaded a free screen capture program from:
http://www.gadwin.com
to try it out for my wife's computer.
I have always been satisfied with Snagit (Using 7.1.0 now), but I didn't want to buy another copy.
Any comments on screen capture?

Any comments on screen capture? What makes once screen capture more valuable than another depends entirely on what you want to use the screen captures for and how well the tool supports that purpose without needing an extra tool to "prepare" your screen captures. Think of file formats supported for output, ways to determine exactly what is captured, keyboard shortcuts, (basic) image editing and annotation, auto-naming of files, etc.
If your needs are basic, Windows effectively has screen capture built-in. PrintScreen (whole screen) and Alt+PrintScreen (active window) put a capture on the clipboard; Paint can then Paste it as an image. File formats supported by Paint differ by Windows version (Win2K supports Bitmaps of various color depths, GIF and JPEG), but it does have some image editing and annotation capabilities as well. It may be all you need.
The tool I personally use is Hypersnap-DX (Hyperionics.com) - it does all I need and then some (but I like a bit of "head room" in a tool like that). I save in PNG format by default which gives good compression for program dialog screen captures - but it supports 10 different formats.
