Hello!
To save money, I'm thinking about getting a 20" used iMac for home (we use Macs at the office). I found some on PowerMax's site. Any advice on the perils/blessings of used Macs and/or PowerMax as a seller?
Thanks,
Mama Bear

I've seen their ads for quite a while, but don't really know their reputation. There were a couple of used-Mac dealers years ago that were pretty reliable; I bought things from both the old Shreve Systems and Pre-Owned Electronics. They both seem to be gone now.
Hm...I just remembered another name, one that I've heard good things about: Small Dog Electronics (http://www.smalldog.com/). Hopefully someone else here has experience with PowerMax and/or Small Dog.

I have bought successfully from Small Dog (http://www.smalldog.com/) and Shreve Systems (http://www.shrevesystems.com/). Whoever you buy from, you should look at the terms of the warranty. If the machine isn’t satisfactory, what will they do about it? And for how long?
I see that Small Dog has a couple of 20-inch G4 iMacs for less than a grand. The G5s are not much cheaper than new, which might give me pause.
