Judy,

Why do I get an email message telling me you have responded to one of my messages with this one? I know nothing about vBulletin. My real objective is to understand how this forum works. The CS INETPUB forum was easier to use.

Why do I get an email message telling me you have responded to one of my messages with this one? It is probably a setting in your personal control panel (click on User CP in the blue menu bar to access it).

Under Settings & Options -> Edit Options -> Messaging & Notification -> Default Thread Subscription Mode:

Change the setting to No email notification, and you will not receive an e-mail when someone replies in a thread you are part of. You can also elect to receive them only once a day or week, if you prefer.

For example: To see where to turn that on for this particular section, "Using This Message Board," click on the name of this section in the breadcrumb links at the top or bottom of this window you're now viewing. When you do, you'll see all the messages posted in just this section and you'll see, above and toward the right of the list of threads, a little menu called "Forum Tools". In that menu you'll see "Subscribe to This Forum." Click that option and in the "Notification Type:" menu you can choose no, daily or weekly notification.
