And do you still consider it when coding web pages?

Unless I'm mistaken (quite probable), Win 98 shipped with IE 4 but IE 5 came out very soon afterwards.
I wouldn't consider anything older than IE 6 nowadays - plus Opera, Mozilla and friends of course.

Not sure of Win98 but if it's of any help, Win98SE shipped with MSIE5.

While I do most of my email and browsing on a Mac (Mozilla), I still have Win98SE and run Firefox on it, which is a bit slow (need a Mobo upgrade). Only occasionly do I have to resort to IE 5

Not very many. This site (http://www.upsdell.com/BrowserNews/stat.htm) reports stats from several sites, and it looks like IE4 is just a tiny fraction -- not even one percent. I also like to look at the statistics from The Counter.com (http://www.thecounter.com/stats/) since that draws from so many different sites, and there again it's less than one percent.

less than one percent.Luckily, I convinced the client to upgrade his friends browser, instead of redesigning the site so it looked good for her old browser!<G>

Thank heavens! Trying to maintain backwards compatibility is a good thing. Trying to maintain backwards compatibility back to the online equivalent of the Stone Age is almost impossibly complicated.
